RBT Course – Quick FAQ
Fast answers about enrolling, navigating lessons, certificates, employer portals, and tech fixes. For full guidance, see the RBT Starter Guide (2025) and the Course Navigation Guide.
Purchasing & Eligibility start here
Is the 40-hour course free? Yes — enroll and complete all modules at no cost. A paid upgrade is only needed if you want a BACB-compliant training certificate and exam-prep resources.
Does the training meet BACB requirements? The curriculum is aligned to the BACB RBT Task List. To use the training for the BACB application, you’ll need a BACB-compliant training certificate issued after our manual Course Completion Review.
Two routes (because BACB requirements are changing):
- Exam in 2025 → complete Modules 1–10. After upgrade and successful review, your certificate confirms you met 2025 training requirements (Task List 2.0). Wording: “This training programme is based on the Registered Behavior Technician Task List (2nd ed.) and is designed to meet the 40-hour training requirement for the RBT credential. This programme is offered independent of the BACB.”
- Exam in 2026 or later → complete Modules 1–10 + Module 11. After upgrade and successful review, your certificate confirms you met 2026 training requirements (new areas in Module 11). Wording: “This training program is designed to meet the 2026 training eligibility requirement for RBT certification. This training is offered independent of the BACB.”
The 2.0 path will be phased out by December 2025. Choose your route based on when you plan to sit the RBT exam.
What’s included in the $69 Certification Pack? (1) Manual Course Completion Review; (2) BACB-compliant training certificate (after a successful review); (3) exam-prep resources (Study Guide, Mini Revision Course, up to 20 practice exams). You can upgrade any time.
Accidentally ordered two Certification Packs? Contact us immediately via Contact Support so we can resolve this quickly. Refunds are not immediate and may take time to appear in your account.
Refunds (summary): Refunds are not available except in exceptional circumstances. The following are not reasons for a refund: choosing not to complete the course; no longer needing a certificate; or not passing the Course Review. If you believe you have an exceptional case (e.g., duplicate order), contact us directly.
Onboarding & Accounts
How do I enroll? Add the free course to your basket (total $0), check out, set your password from the email (or via My Account), then go to My Learning.
I didn’t get the password email. Check spam/junk folders. Some email providers block reset emails at the server level. If nothing arrives after 10 minutes, try “Lost your password?” again, or use an alternate email you control. If still blocked, contact support and we’ll assist.
My course isn’t showing. Ensure you’re logged into the same email used at checkout. Some learners accidentally create a second account or click Unenroll. If so, email us the affected email(s) and we’ll link/restore your access. We retain completion records.
Course Structure & Navigation
How is the course structured? 2025 route: 10 modules (~50 lessons). 2026 route: 11 modules (Modules 1–10 + Module 11 for new requirements).
Do lessons have to be done in order? Yes — the course is strictly sequential. Each lesson unlocks after you fully complete the previous one.
What completes a lesson? (1) Watch the video; (2) pass the Consolidation Exercise(s); (3) submit a 100–500 word reflection.
What is a Consolidation Exercise? A short 8-frame fill-in-the-blank practice set (some lessons have two). You only need to retake the frames answered incorrectly; correct frames stay completed on retake. Extra spaces are not an issue, but correct spelling of the missing word matters.
Reflections & language: Write 100–500 words in your preferred language (your own words). Spelling/grammar are not graded; authenticity and engagement are expected. Do not paste AI or external content as your own work.
Where do I track progress? On the course home page, click Track Your Progress, or see overall status in My Learning. For planning, use the Excel “Student Tracker + Countdown”. The BACB requires completion between 5 and 180 days.
Step-by-step navigation (with screenshots): Course Navigation Guide.
I completed x but can’t proceed
Check the three completion steps: (1) video viewed; (2) all Consolidation Exercise(s) passed; (3) reflection submitted.
Forgot to press “Submit”? Return to the item, click Submit, then go back to the lesson page and use Next Lesson.
Quiz says I passed but won’t advance. Refresh the page (F5 desktop / pull-to-refresh mobile). If a lesson has two Consolidation Exercises, complete both before continuing.
Why was my answer marked wrong? Usually a spelling/term mismatch (not spacing). Type the full missing word for best results. Use “See Answer” on the frame if needed. Keep your browser display in English — auto-translate can hide partial-word prompts.
Certificates & Upgrades
Does the free course include a certificate? No. Certificates are issued only after a successful manual Course Completion Review (part of the $69 Certification Pack).
I’ve upgraded — how do I get my certificate? Finish all required modules for your chosen route (1–10, or 1–10 + 11) and submit the Course Completion Review. After a successful review, we email your BACB-compliant 40-hour training certificate. Typical turnaround is 1–2 working days, but may be longer during busy or holiday periods.
If issues are found during review: We’ll request replacement reflections to cover incomplete/ineligible reflections. These are substantive (not necessarily short). Once submitted and approved, your certificate can be issued.
What comes after the training certificate? (a) Initial Competency Assessment with a qualified supervisor (often your employer/BCBA); (b) apply to the BACB; (c) schedule your exam with Pearson VUE.
Employer Portals & Data Sharing
Register under your employer: After you enroll, complete the Employer Data Sharing consent form (linked in your course welcome/intro). Once consent is recorded, we’ll add you to your employer’s portal.
What can my employer see? With your explicit consent, employers can view your lesson/module completion status and the content you submitted (e.g., reflections, quiz outcomes) where their consent form covers this level of access.
Organisation admins: Staff enroll free → you assign Certification Pack licences after they finish. We can set up your portal and admin access; contact us for details.
Technical Help
Best setup: Modern Chrome/Edge/Safari/Firefox; stable connection; laptop/desktop recommended for typed answers.
Quiz/lesson won’t load? Refresh, clear cache, or try another browser/device. Disable heavy extensions. If still stuck, send us a screenshot.
Password reset issues: Use Lost your password?, check spam, and ensure you’re using the same email you enrolled with. Some providers block emails at server level — if you still don’t receive the reset, contact support.
Accidentally unenrolled? We retain completion records. Email us and we’ll restore access to your original enrollment.
When will I hear back? Typical response time is 1–2 working days (London time, Monday–Friday). It may take longer during busy/holiday periods.
Help us help you: Always include your full name, the email address used for registration, and a screenshot of the issue.
