Is free RBT training legit?

Is Jigsaw’s RBT course BACB approved?

How do I become an RBT?

How fast can you become an RBT?
RBT training cannot be completed in fewer than 5 calendar days, and it must be completed within 180 days. After training, you still need the Initial Competency Assessment, BACB application approval, and the Pearson VUE examination. A realistic timeline is often several weeks, depending on assessor availability, BACB processing, and exam scheduling.
Is it difficult to become an RBT?
Becoming an RBT is achievable, but it is not just a matter of watching videos. You must complete 40 hours of training, demonstrate practical skills during the Initial Competency Assessment, apply through the BACB, and pass the exam. Is RBT training really 40 hours?
Yes. The BACB requires at least 40 hours of RBT training, completed in no fewer than 5 days and no more than 180 days. Jigsaw’s RBT 3.0 course includes 11 modules, 69 lessons, and about 43.5 hours of recorded training content.
How long does the Jigsaw RBT course take?
The course contains around 43.5 hours of recorded training content. Some learners complete it intensively over about a week, while others spread it over several months. You must complete the course over at least 5 calendar days and within 180 days of opening Module 1 if you want the certificate to support a BACB application.
What is the best RBT training course?

How much is an RBT training course?
An RBT training course can cost nothing to several hundred dollars, depending on the provider, format, and support included. Jigsaw’s RBT 3.0 course is free to enroll in and complete. The optional Certification Pack is for learners who plan to apply for the BACB RBT examination and need Jigsaw to review completion and issue the relevant training certificate.
What is included in the Certification Pack?
The Certification Pack includes Course Completion Review, a BACB-compliant 40-hour training certificate where the learner meets the timing, completion, and review requirements, an RBT Study Guide, a Mini Revision Course, and up to 20 full-length practice exams. It is intended for learners who plan to apply for the BACB RBT examination.
Do I need the Certification Pack?
You do not need the Certification Pack if you are taking the course only for personal learning, professional development, or general ABA knowledge. You usually do need it if you want Jigsaw to review your completion and issue a training certificate for your BACB application. You can complete the free course first and upgrade later through the Certification Pack page.
How do I get my RBT training certificate from Jigsaw?
Complete Modules 1-11, make sure your recorded study time is at least 40 hours, confirm that at least 5 calendar days have passed since opening Module 1, purchase or hold access to the Certification Pack, and submit the Course Completion Review form. You should include your BACB ID when submitting the form.
How long does Course Completion Review take?
Course Completion Review usually takes 1-3 business days, although it may take longer during busy periods or holidays. Before applying, check your course homepage and the “Track Your Progress” section to make sure all 11 modules are complete and your recorded training time is at least 40 hours.
What happens if I finish the course in under 40 hours?
If your recorded study time is below 40 hours, do not submit your Course Completion Review yet. Go back through the optional materials, readings, reflections, revision activities, and practice resources until your course homepage shows at least 40 hours of recorded training time. You can access your courses through My Learning.
What happens if I take longer than 180 days?
If you are seeking a certificate for BACB application, the 180-day limit matters because it is a BACB requirement. Jigsaw cannot simply extend the BACB’s 180-day training window. If your window has expired, you may need to restart the course. If you are using the course only for CPD or general learning, contact Jigsaw support for guidance.
What topics are covered in the RBT 3.0 course?
Jigsaw’s RBT 3.0 course includes 11 modules covering ABA foundations, the role of the RBT, key concepts and principles of behavior analysis, ABA procedures, measurement, functional assessment, behavior support plans, verbal behavior and assessment, skills teaching, ethics, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and preparation for working as an RBT.
What is the RBT exam based on in 2026?
From 2026, the RBT examination is based on the RBT Test Content Outline, 3rd edition. The exam includes questions across six domains: Data Collection and Graphing, Behavior Assessment, Behavior Acquisition, Behavior Reduction, Documentation and Reporting, and Ethics.
Can I take the RBT certification exam online?
The RBT exam is not an online course quiz. After BACB approval, candidates schedule the certification exam through Pearson VUE. The BACB describes its examinations as delivered in person at authorised Pearson VUE testing sites and US military bases. You can read more on the BACB’s Examination Information page.
Can I do the RBT exam online?
You can complete RBT training online, but the RBT certification exam is different. Once your BACB application is approved, you schedule the examination through Pearson VUE. Available testing locations depend on BACB jurisdiction rules and Pearson VUE site availability.
Can I be an RBT in Canada?
Some Canadian residents can apply for RBT certification, but current BACB jurisdiction rules matter. Before paying for any course or certificate, check the BACB’s International Development and Support page and confirm whether the credential is available and recognised where you live.
How do I become an RBT in Canada?
To become an RBT in Canada, first confirm that you live in a BACB-eligible location. Then complete current 40-hour training, arrange the Initial Competency Assessment with a qualified assessor, submit the BACB application with the required documents, receive examination authorisation, and sit the RBT exam through Pearson VUE.
Does the UK have RBT?
As of 1 January 2026, UK residents can no longer apply for new BACB certification. Existing UK certificants may maintain their certification. UK learners can still use RBT-style training for professional development, employer training, ABA knowledge, or preparation for roles where BACB certification itself is not required. Is RBT certification worth it?
RBT certification can be worth it if you want entry-level work delivering behavior-analytic services under close supervision, especially in services where employers or funders recognise the BACB credential. It is less useful in jurisdictions where new BACB certification is unavailable or where employers do not require it. If you are unsure, check current job adverts and local employer requirements before purchasing the Certification Pack.
What is the highest paid RBT?
The highest-paid RBT roles are usually linked to experience, local demand, harder-to-fill locations, specialist service settings, or employers that fund supervision and career progression. The BACB does not set RBT wages. Treat salary claims as local labour-market information and compare current job postings before choosing a training route.
Which is better, RBT or BCBA?
RBT and BCBA are different credentials, not competing versions of the same role. An RBT is a paraprofessional who delivers behavior-analytic services under close supervision. A BCBA is a graduate-level behavior analyst who can design programs, supervise RBTs, and take clinical responsibility. RBT training can be a useful first step if you are exploring a longer-term path in ABA.
Jigsaw Course Access, Support and Employer FAQs
Where do I log in or find my course?
Log in through My Account, then go to My Learning. Your enrolled courses should appear there. If you cannot see your course, check that you are using the same email address you used at checkout or registration.
How do I complete lessons in the Jigsaw RBT course?
Each lesson follows the same basic sequence: watch the video, complete the consolidation exercise, read the required material, and submit your reflection. Lessons unlock sequentially, so the next lesson may stay locked if an exercise or reflection is incomplete.
What score do I need on the consolidation exercises?
Jigsaw’s RBT course uses mastery-based consolidation exercises. You normally need to score 90-100% before you can progress. If you miss an item, review the feedback, refresh if needed, and retry the missed frame.
Can I use FRED, the AI tutor, during the course?
Yes. FRED can help you clarify concepts, generate examples, test your understanding, and think through difficult topics. However, your reflections must be written in your own words. Do not paste AI-generated text into a reflection and submit it as your own work.
Can parents, teachers or support workers take the RBT course?
Yes. The course can be useful for parents, teachers, support workers, students, and professionals who want to understand ABA and behavior-analytic services. However, completing training alone does not make someone an RBT. The RBT credential is issued by the BACB only after the full certification pathway is completed.
Do you offer group RBT training for employers?
