Registered Behavior Technician: (RBT) 3.0: 40-Hour Online Training Course

Welcome to the Jigsaw Training RBT Course

The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential is awarded by the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board (BACB). It is widely used by people who support autistic individuals and others with intellectual and developmental disabilities. RBTs always work under the supervision of a BCBA or BCaBA.

To qualify as an RBT, you must complete 40 hours of training in applied behaviour analysis, then pass an Initial Competency Assessment, and finally sit the RBT exam. Once you begin the course, you have 180 days (about six months) to finish the training. If you complete the course in fewer than 40 hours or in less than five days, the BACB will not accept the certificate for certification purposes.

Please note that time spent on the site only counts towards your completion time when you are actively engaging with the course content. Note that the timer does not update second by second. Only days after January 27th will appear here.

RBT Training Requirements (2026 and onwards)

The BACB has retired the RBT Task List 2.0. All new RBT applicants must meet the updated 2026 training requirements. This course is designed to meet those requirements To meet these requirements, you must complete Modules 1-11.

Your Certificate

The training itself is free. To apply for the RBT exam, the BACB requires a formal course completion certificate. This is provided through the RBT Certification Pack upgrade.

After you finish the course, we manually review your work to confirm it was completed independently, in your own words, and within 180 days. Once approved, you will receive a certificate stating:

“This training programme is designed to meet the 2026 training eligibility requirement for RBT certification. This training is offered independent of the BACB.”
